Vinyl tent material has properties that make it resistant to water and dirt.
We use this to create a gusset with no seams at the bottom, resulting in a gusseted tote bag that can be used at dirty campsites, snowy mountains, and beaches. However, some moisture may enter through the side seams, so we describe it as "somewhat waterproof."
