If you remove the buckles on both sides, it becomes a zip-top tote ( similar to THE-VIVIENNE-ZIP-55 ), so it's perfect for when you have more luggage after shopping.

A slightly waterproof tote made from vinyl tent material.
Vinyl tent material is water and stain resistant.
We used this to create a gusset at the bottom using a seamless manufacturing method, and created a gusseted tote bag that can be used on dirty ground such as at a campsite, or on snowy mountains or at the beach. However, some water can get in through the seams on the sides, so we call it "slightly waterproof."
