JETMINMIN always offers genderless items, but this is a slightly masculine tote bag.
When considering both the internal aspect of masculinity and the external aspects of muscle development and body shape, it is a fact that there are clear differences between men and women, and that items designed for men differ slightly from those for women in terms of styling. There is a reason I am writing this so carefully: in an era where various considerations are necessary, it is to make the names I am about to mention easier to pronounce.
Steve McQueen, Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman, Denzel Washington, and Al Pacino do not carry shoulder totes. In the movies, they almost always hold a well-worn leather Boston bag with a short handle in their large fists. Boston bags are wide and suit their masculine silhouettes perfectly.
I wondered if I could make a bag like that, so I tried making several, but none of them turned out quite right, and they all ended up being rejected.
JETMINMIN has a tote bag called "BALLOOON!", and the 65 cm wide version is quite large—so large that it is difficult to carry when packed full.
If it is too large, it is difficult to use, and if a couple is going on a road trip, a slightly smaller size would be better.
So, I started developing the "BALLOOON!-65-LO," which is 10 cm shorter than the standard 65 size...
While drawing the pattern, I realized that this might just be the masculine Boston bag I have always wanted to make.
Gene Hackman might not carry this, but Serge Gainsbourg might. Alain Delon might carry it, and so might Ewan McGregor. It is just a slightly different kind of masculinity.
As someone who admires masculinity, I want to use this too. When checking into a hotel lobby, I want to set it down on the floor with a "thud."
Checking out, carrying it to the parking lot with a grunt, and putting it in the trunk of a sedan with a "thud" would also look great.
More than that, I want to travel slowly. It would be nice to fly to Kyushu, rent a car, and drive around the whole island.

HICKORY-A
Made with a body of 12.7 oz hickory denim from Okayama and 13.5 oz organic cotton denim from Okayama. HICKORY-A has a white zipper. If you prefer black, please let us know when placing your order. Due to the characteristics of hickory fabric, the opening binding is wrapped on the reverse side, opposite to canvas, so JETMINMIN's woven name tag, which is usually attached to the opening, will be attached to the side rib instead.

KIBI-LEOPARD
Made from cotton back satin woven in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, formerly known as Kibi Province, Japan. The pattern and color may vary from item to item.
Canvas products are cut and sewn after the canvas fabric has been washed once to allow it to shrink naturally. The finished products are then washed again and air-dried to allow the overall shape to settle and to create a faded effect before delivery.
Due to shrinkage and washing wrinkles, you may feel that the product looks wrinkled and used even though it is new. Wrinkles will naturally stretch out and settle as you use it. Thank you for your understanding.
To be environmentally friendly, the products are washed without fabric softener using a small amount of laundry soap and then air-dried.
■REPAIR SERVICE
No matter how sturdy the products are made, they may become unusable over time due to wear and tear, damage from pets, or being caught on something and tearing or puncturing. We offer a paid repair service for fabric products so that you can enjoy them for as long as possible as long as you like them. If you send us a photo of the damaged area by email, we will provide a repair estimate. (Some products are excluded, and we may decline the request depending on the extent of the damage or if the fabric has reached the end of its lifespan.)
■WASH! WASH!
Fabric products need to be washed. Even stains that are usually unnoticeable can allow bacteria to multiply when they absorb sweat and moisture, which negatively affects the fibers. Weakened fabric is more likely to tear or puncture when rubbed or caught on something. To use the products for as long as possible, it is important to wash them regularly and rotate them so that you do not use the same product every day.
All JETMINMIN fabric products can be washed at home. When washing, use a laundry detergent, hand wash or use a laundry net if using a washing machine, and rinse thoroughly. Once fabric absorbs odors, they can be difficult to remove, so please avoid using scented fabric softeners. Hot water or dryers can cause the fabric to shrink, so always use water or lukewarm water. *Color transfer may occur, so wash with items of similar colors or separately from other items.
